Frequently Asked Questions
What counts as a seat?
A seat is one Authorized User: a named person in your organization with login access. Per-seat rates step down automatically as your team grows, and every seat in an agreement is billed at your bracket's rate.
What is the difference between Library Public and Library Private?
Library Public serves your rate plan data to the world: a public API, a public GUI, embeddable widgets, API key registration for downstream consumers, and a public discoverability listing. Library Private serves the same data inside your organization only, with no public exposure. Every Library Public plan includes one staging Library Private repository for draft and unpublished rate plans.
Do Library subscriptions include Explorer?
Yes. Every seat included with a Library Public or Library Private plan comes with Explorer access, and Library organizations can add read-only Explorer seats anytime at the additional-seat rate in the add-ons table. Standalone Explorer seats are for people who work with published rate plan data without an organization Library plan.
What is on the roadmap?
Authoring, born-digital publication, and cost-model validation capabilities are on the horizon. Pricing for those will be published when they launch. Contact us if you want a walkthrough of where the platform is headed.
Is UtiliPub™ open source?
No. UtiliPub™ is proprietary software from Flux Tailor. It is built on URPX, the open-source utility rate plan exchange standard hosted by LF Energy. The standard is open; UtiliPub™ is the commercial toolkit for working with it.

What about larger teams?
Organizations needing more than 40 seats, more than 40 included Library seats, or custom repository counts get a custom Enterprise quote. Contact us and we will put one together.
